About:
Welcome! I'm Carrie, a 29 year-old American woman living in northern Sweden (soon to be living in the US I hope). This is my humble little home. You can see I have a lot to say, and hopefully not all of it is totally boring. My most intersting posts (in my opinion) are the ones I wrote when I first moved to Sweden. You can find them in my diary-X archives I've locked them up, but if you e-mail me I'll be more than happy to give you the password. I wanted to avoid a real life friend finding them. I'm perfectly ok with giving out info to perfect strangers. What's wrong with me?

On September 17, 2001 I began the biggest adventure of my life. Armed with two suitcases full of sweaters, brown sugar, chocolate chips and books, I hopped a plane to Sweden. Why? All in the name of love. A couple of years earlier I met a funny guy on the Internet and I was soon hopelessly in love. For some strange reason he felt the same way. He came to visit me a few times and we decided we had to be together. After a long trail of paperwork, I had my permit in hand and stepped onto the plane. The past two years have been full of culture shock, language frustration, and lots and lots of fun. I've had a lot of adjusting to do, but overall I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life. This page is an account of my personal journey. There's a link to my diary (if you want to read about the culture shock, go to the diary-x archives and look for the "Swedeland posts"), lots and lots of pictures, and a few links and recipes. Enjoy your stay! |
